"Gene" Robertson, 58, of 3713 Wood St., died Oct. 2, 1995, at his residence. A native of Suffolk, Va., he was the son of the late Eugene C. Robertson Sr. and Frances Shackelford Robertson Umphlett sic; Umphlet]. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty P. Robertson, who died in February 1994. He had retired as a salesman for Radio Shack in Moundsville, W.Va., and had managed the Radio Shack in Franklin, Va., for five years before moving to West Virginia. Mr. Robertson had also served three years in the Virginia National Guard. He was a member of Free Will Baptist Church, Wheeling. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruth Ann Cross Robertson; a daughter, Vicky R. Daughtrey of Boykins; two sons, Jerry E. Robertson of Sedley, Va., and Spec. Timothy L. Cross, U.S. Army Ft. Drum, N.Y.; a sister, Phyllis R. Cash of Windsor. Va.; three brothers, Ira J. Robertson of Buffalo Junction, Va., Allen Robertson of Suffolk, Va., and Bruce Robertson of Portsmouth; his stepmother, Martha G. Robertson of Portsmouth; and several grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. by Revs. J.D. McCormick, Victor Hunter and James T. Dunn in Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home. Suffolk. Burial will be in Antioch Christian Church Cemetery, Windsor. The family will receive visitors Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home, and other times at the home of Lyle and Phyllis Cash, 22078 Garrison Dr., Windsor. Memorial contributions may be made to the Obici Memorial Hospital Hospice Unit, 1900 N.
