Roberts Succumbs at 89 WINDSOR - James Cornelius Roberts, 89, died Tuesday at 4:45 p.m. in Obici Memorial hospital, Suffolk. The body was taken to the Baker Funeral home. Funeral services will be announced later. He was a son of Nathaniel C. and Mrs. Adminta Oliver Roberts of Isle of Wight County. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Lucy Bailey Roberts of Windsor; two daughters, Mrs. Addye Roberts Woolard of Richmond and Miss Deborah Roberts of Rustburg; three sons, J.C. Roberts Jr. of Franklin, Charles W. Roberts of Phoenix, Ariz., and Harry N. Roberts of Roanoke; a half sister, Mrs. Dempsey Johnson of Myrtle; three half brothers, W.R. Turner of Carrollton, and R.T. Turner and W.H. Turner of Windsor; and three grandchildren. ****************************************************************************** James C. Turner of Carrollton and R.T. Turner and W.H. Turner of Windsor; and three grandchildren. He was a member of Windsor Christian Church. The body was taken to R.W. Baker Funeral Home in Suffolk. D, 16th VA Infantry, until he was discharged for physical disability. He was one of seven brothers who all fought for the Confederacy.
