He was the son of the late George and Kissie Roberts, of Southampton County. Mr. Roberts is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Mumford* Roberts; a son, Willie Edward Roberts, Carrsville; four daughters, Mrs. Francis M. Hayes and Mrs. Maggie L. Beam, both of Carrsville; Mrs. Annie N. Bulls, of Capron, and Mrs. Mary S. Boykins, of Zuni; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the grave in Beaver Dam Church Cemetery with the Rev. Edwin C. The deceased was the husband of Mrs. Mary Mumford Roberts, who survives him, and the son of the late George and Kissie Roberts of Southampton County. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, William Edward Roberts of Carrsville; four daughters, Mrs. Annie M. Bulls of [...], Mrs. Mary S. Boykins of Zuni, and Mrs. Frances M. Hayes and Mrs. Maggie L. Beam, both of Carrsville; and nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the grave in Beaver Dam Church Cemetery, with Rev. Edwin C. Thornton officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Leland Beale, Raby Beale, F.C. Cutchin, C.C. Edwards, Johnny Fowler, Philip Hatfield, Oscar Joyner and Roger Tomlin.
