ROBERTS FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FOR SALLY W. ROBERTS Funeral services for Sallie W. Roberts, who died last Thursday were held at Windsor Christian Church Saturday afternoon at 3 o’clock. She was 28 yeas old and a member of Windsor Christian Church and a graduate of Windsor High School. The songs that were sung were "Some Day We’ll Understand," "Abide With Me," and "Nearer My God to Thee." Rev. G.A. Pierce sang "There"ll Be No Night There." "Face to Face" was sung by Mrs. L.H. Edwards and R.G. Eley. The funeral was conducted by Rev. G.A. Pierce of Windsor Christian Church, assisted by Rev. R.T. Clarke, Rev. J.S. Cobb and Rev. W.H. Harwood, all of Windsor, Rev. W.W. Staley and Rev. H.S. Hardcastle, of Suffolk. The floral designs were beautiful and numerous. Active pallbearers were Eldon Fulgham, Ralph Woolard, S.T. Holland, Bertram Hingerty, all of Windsor; Leroy Haskett, of South Norfolk, and Edward Brooks, of Portsmouth. Honorary pallbearers were friends of the deceased. Sallie W. Johnson, 2m. 1866 Abraham Duck, & 3m. 1876 George W. Turner {all in IoW.Co.). Sallie father's D.Cert. (#2075) gives b. 6 Dec 1869, Va., d. 7 Jan 1957, Windsor, sn/o Francis C. Roberts & Charlotte ["Lottie"] Butler; the informant was [his daughter] Miss Julia Roberts, of Windsor. Francis & three of his six brothers are buried in Windsor Cemetery.
