All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ JOSEPHINE ELIZABETH BUTLER ROSE Mrs. Josephine Elizabeth Rose, wife of Junius Edward Rose of the Carrsville community, died Sunday morning, June 12, at a Suffolk hospital after a short illness. At the time of her death she was 75 years of age. Mrs. Rose was the daughter of the late Milton and Josephine Bradshaw Butler of Isle of Wight County. She was a member of the Beaver Dam Baptist Church, the Woman’s Missionary Society of the church, and the Carrsville Home Demonstration Club. Besides her husband she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Grace Rose Brothers of Richmond; one son, Junius Edward Rose, Jr., of Carrsville; five grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. F.M. Pierce of Driver. Funeral services for Mrs. Rose were conducted from Beaver Dam Baptist Church on Monday afternoon at four o’clock by the pastor, Rev. Edwin C. Thornton. Interment was in the church cemetery, the active pallbearers being Cliff Pierce, Frank Pierce, Milton Pierce, Quinton Butler, Godwin Butler, A.R. Butler, Jr., J.C. Rose, Jr., and W.C. Butler.
