She was born in Isle of Wight County. She had been employed by St. Regis Paper Co., Franklin, for 11 years. She was a nurse’s aide at Southampton Memorial Hospital for nine years and was a private duty nurse’s aide for nine years. She was a member of Colosse Baptist Church, Kalupian Church School Class, Peggy Johnson Circle Group and Golden Age Club of Mount Carmel Congregational Christian Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Mary Butler of Suffolk; a son, James R. Rose of Como, N.C.; 17 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday at Colosse Baptist Church by the Revs. Mitchell Luckie, Donald Trump and Robert E. Coefield. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions of the Building Fund of Colosse Baptist Church.
