WILBUR LINTON (JACK) REDD 

   WALTERS - Wilbur Linton (Jack) Redd, 62, died Friday afternoon in a 
Franklin hospital after a long illness.

   A retired farmer and peanut broker, he was born in Isle of Wight County.

   He was a member of Colosse Baptist Church.

   He was the husband of Mrs. Louise Bland Redd and a son of Cephas and Mrs. 
Gertrude Crumpler Redd.

   Besides his widow, and mother surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Lucille R. 
Johnson, Newport News and Miss Jacqueline Redd of Walters; two brothers, Cecil 
and Charles Redd of Walters, four sisters, mrs. Leona Spivey of Carrsville, 
Mrs. Belva Powell and Mrs. Mahailey Spivey of Windsor and Mrs. Frances Spivey 
of Norfolk; and six grandchildren.

   A funeral service was held Sunday at 4 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland and Sons 
Funeral Home by the Rev. Donald E. Trump of Colosse Baptist Church, the Rev. 
William A. Grissom of Windsor Christian Church and the Rev. Thomas D. Sutton 
of Mt. Carmel Christian Church.

   Burial was in Colosse Baptist Church cemetery.

   Pallbearers were Roy Edwards, A.L. Duck Jr., Frank Johnson, J.L. Rose, 
Lofton Rhodes, R.C. Harrell, Jr., Jasper Carr and Homer Johnson.
