RHODES Suffolk, Dec. 2. - Elan Thomas Rhodes, 54, prominent farmer of Colosse, Isle of Wight County died on this morning in Lakeview Hospital in Suffolk after a short illness. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Marie H. Rhodes; a daughter, Miss Frances Rhodes; two sons, Elan T. Rhodes, Jr., and William Joseph Rhodes; four brothers, Ernest, Emmett H., John and Kenny Rhodes; four sisters, Mrs. Eunice Wiggins, Mrs. Mattie Lewis, Mrs. Edna Gay and Mrs. Dolly Carr. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at Colosse by the Rev. J. Sidney Cobb. Rhodes, Jr., and William Joseph Rhodes; four brothers, Ernest, Emmett H., John and Kenny Rhodes; four sisters, Mrs. Eunice Wiggins, Mrs. Mattie Lewis, Mrs. Edna Gay, and Mrs. Dolly Carr. Funeral services were conducted from the Colosse Baptist Church on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock by Rev. J. Sidney Cobb. Interment was made in the church cemetery, with the following as active pallbearers: John A. Coggins, Hurley Gay, Chester L. Carr, Jesse Holland, Willie Holmes, W.E. Spires, Mills Spivey and Raleigh Rhodes. Members of the W.O.W. Lodge, with which the deceased was affiliated, were honorary pallbearers.
