All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Franklin News Illness Fatal To Mrs. Gertie Rhodes FRANKLIN, Dec. 3 - Mrs. Gertie Belle Holland Rhodes, age 49, well-known resident of the Windsor community, and wife of Charles Emory Rhodes, died early Saturday morning at Lakeview Hospital after a lingering illness. Mrs. Rhodes was the daughter of the late Willis [sic; Mills] Thomas and Anna Belle Carr Holland, of Isle of Wight County. She was a member of Antioch Christian Church, near Windsor. Besides her husband she is survived by two daughters, Miss Katherine Rhodes, and Mrs. Howard Bowden; two sons, Gibson Earl, and Russell Emory Rhodes, all of Windsor; three grandchildren, of Windsor; four sisters, Mrs. Benjamin Griffin; Mrs. Letcher Braswell, Mrs. Sherman Batten, of Windsor, and Mrs. William Hedgepeth, of Carrsville, and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Rhodes was taken to the funeral home of W.J.M. Holland and Sons in Franklin, and will be taken to Antioch Christian Church today for funeral services at two o'clock, with, the Rev. Ellis N.
