Rhodes, 63, farmer of the Windsor community, died suddenly Tuesday afternoon after a brief illness. He was the husband of Mrs. Virgie Cones Rhodes and a son of John J. and Mrs. Cornelia Virginia Turner Rhodes of Isle of Wight County. He was a member of Colosse Baptist Church and also a member of Beach Camp 186, Woodmen of the World. He was a Merchant Marine veteran of the World War I. Besides his wife, surviving are two brothers, Emmett Rhodes and Ernest Rhodes, both of Windsor, and two sisters, Mrs. Hurley Gay of Zuni and Mrs. Chester L. Carr of Carrsville. Funeral services were held today at 2:30 p.m. at the Holland Funeral Chapel, Franklin, by the Rev. Donald E. Trump, pastor of Colosse Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were John J. Rhodes, Marvin Rhodes, Delmar Carr, Eldridge Turner, Raby Turner, Dr. Clem Crossland, William Rose and P.B. Butler, Jr. Kenie P.
