All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ FANNIE RAWLS On Thursday night, April 20, at eight o’clock, at the home of her nephew, Dr. Gavin Rawls, Carrsville, Va., Miss Fannie Rawls quietly fell asleep at the age of 87 years. The funeral was conducted at Beaver Dam Church Saturday, April 22, at 2:30 p.m. in the presence of a large concourse of friends and relatives who came to share in the last tribute of respect to one who was loved and honored by all who knew her. The profuse floral offerings attested the high esteem in which she was held. The pallbearers were John Saunders, Jasper Daughtery, Jesse Duck, A.R. Butler, R.D. Britt, W.L. Bryant, J. Rose, S.T. Saunders and Dr. C.J. Bradshaw. The services were conducted by her Pastor, Rev. Geo. R. Pankey, assisted by Rev. J.D. Harte of Oxford, N.C., Rev. W. Thorburn Clarke of Richmond and Rev. J.P. Essex of Newsoms. After the services the body was laid to rest in the church cemetery to quietly await the resurrection of the just".
