SUFFOLK - A funeral service for Richard (Dick) Holmes Rawles Jr., 60, was held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. W.A. Grissom and Richard L. Peerey. Masonic rites were accorded at graveside by Franklin Lodge No. 151. Wright Funeral Home was in charge. Rawles died Wednesday in a convalescent home. A native of Franklin, he was the husband of Zella Rose Rawles and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was employed by Union Camp Corp. for 26 years and had retired from Southwest Forestry Lumber Co. as personal [sic; personnel] director. He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church of Avondale, Ariz., Elzaribah Shrine Temple of Phoenix and Order of Scottish Rites of Tucson. He was a past master of Masonic Lodge No. 151, A.F. and A.M.X, and a past patron of Order of the Eastern Star No. 128, both in Franklin. He was a past president of Coconinio Shrine Club of Arizona and was a Rotarian. Other survivors include two daughters, Carolyn R. Jones of Windsor and Peggy R. Syndergaard of Rock Springs, Wyo.; a sister, Jeanette R. Weems of Norfolk; and four grandchildren.
