EDWARD BENJAMIN RAMSEY 

Smithfield, April 4 - Dr. Edward Benjamin Ramsey, 74, died Wednesday at his 
home in Smithfield.

   A native of Isle of Wight County, Dr. Ramsey was a member of Smithfield 
Baptist Church.

   Dr. Ramsey is survived by his wife, Mrs. Snow Gwaltney Ramsey; four 
daughters, Mrs. D.R. Parker, of Carrollton; Mrs. E. Guy Wilson, of Richmond; 
Mrs. J.N. Lan, of South Norfolk, and Mrs. B.G. James, of Smithfield, one son, 
Staff Sergeant Edward B. Ramsey, Jr., four grandchildren and several nieces 
and nephews.

   Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at Smithfield Baptist 
church, conducted by the Rev. L.F. Paulette, pastor, assisted by the Rev. 
John W. Newman.  Internment will be in Mill Swamp Cemetery.  Deacons of the 
Mill Swamp and Smithfield Baptist Churches will act as honorary pallbearers.
