CORA LEE AVIS SPIVEY

   WINDSOR  - Funeral service for Mrs. Cora Avis Spivey was conducted Sunday, 
March 29 at 3:30 p.m. in Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield by the Rev. Joseph 
L. McTeer, pastor of Colosse Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery.

   Pallbearers were Georgie T. Bowden, Guthrie E. Ballard, J. Clayton Darden, 
Richard J. Holland, G. Dallas Carr, Robert R. Lewis, W. Ray Lee and A. Dunston 
Johnson.

   Mrs. Cora Avis Spivey, 81, of Windsor, died Friday morning in a Newport News 
Hospital following a long illness.

   Mrs. Spivey, a native of Isle of Wight County, was the widow of Luther L. 
Spivey and the daughter of the late James E. and Mrs. Polly S. Avis.

   She was a member of the Colosse Baptist Church and the adult Bible Class.

   Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. R.L. Carr of Suffolk and Mrs. J.E. White 
of Windsor; two sons, Aubrey Spivey of Carrsville and Edward Spivey of Suffolk; 
one sister Mrs. Ryland Lewis of Windsor; five grandchildren and two great-
grandchildren.
