Holland & Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Donald E. Trump. Burial was in Colosse Baptist Church cemetery. The family was at the home of Mrs. Marion E. Howell. Pallbearers were William A. McKenzie, Abner Spivey, Francis P. Spivey, June Davis Spivey, Russell E. Spivey and B.F. Vaughan. Mrs. Spivey, 74, died Friday morning in Southampton Memorial Hospital. A native of Isle of Wight County, she was a daughter of Charles E. and Mrs. Nancy Butler Spivey and the wife of John Tilton Spivey. She was a member of Colosse Baptist Church, Woman’s Missionary Society, and Green Thumb Garden Club. Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Marion E. Howell of Windsor; two sons, John Alton Spivey of Windsor and William Spivey of Norfolk; and seven grandchildren. Ethel Hortense (SPIVEY; Mrs. John T.)
