All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ ANDREW JACKSON SPIVEY WINDSOR - Andrew* Jackson Spivey, 61, well-known farmer of the Colosse community and husband of June Mae Davis Spivey, died Sunday night at Medical College Hospital after an illness of many months. He was the son of the late Charles E. and Nancy Ann Butler Spivey of Isle of Wight County, member of the Colosse Baptist Church, Peride Masonic Lodge and the Woodmen of the World Lodge. Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, June Davis Spivey of Crew, and Francis Palmer Spivey of Windsor ; one daughter, Mrs. Franklin Blythe of Hunterdale, Franklin; six grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. John T. Spivey, Windsor. Funeral services were conducted at the Colosse Baptist Church Wednesday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Donald E. Trump, pastor, and the Rev. Sidney Cobb, retired minister. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were George McClure, Alton Spivey, William Spivey, Abner Spivey, Fred Garris, Calvin Lewis, Nelson Baugham, Marion Howell and Robert McClure. (Find A Grave Mem. #110620304) His D.Cert., WW-II draft card & the 1930 Census also give Andrew. His m.rec., WW-I draft card & the 1910 Census give Alexander. A regiomal variant was "Alexandrew," but that has not been found in the records for this decedent.
