All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ MARY ELIZABETH SPIVEY Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Spivey, 74, a well known resident of the Colosse community, died in Raiford Memorial Hospital early this morning (Thursday) after a short illness. Mrs. Spivey was the daughter of the late James M. and Nancy Carr Vaughan of Isle of Wight county. She was a member of the Colosse Baptist Church, in which she served for many years. Surviving are her husband James Algie Spivey; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Barrett, ______* and Mrs. J.J. Stephens, all of Carrsville; three sons, James E. Spivey and R.B. Spivey of Norfolk, and Melvin W. Spivey of Carrsville; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchilddren; one brother, J.H. Vaughan of Windsor; and two sisters, Mrs. Raleigh Parker of Norfolk and Mrs. W.J. Bailey of Suffolk. Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon at --- o’clock in Colosse Baptist Church, with Rev. Curtis L. Hoffman, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
