Savage, aged 53, of 100 Crawford Street, Portsmouth, was found Saturday afternoon shortly before 5 o'clock floating in the water near the Norfolk slips of the Norfolk and Portsmouth ferries. Dr. C.D.J. Macdonald, city coroner, viewed the body and ordered it turned over to a Portsmouth undertaker to be prepared for burial. Information as to circumstances of the drowning was not available early Sunday, but it was supposed that Mr. Savage had fallen into the water several hours before his body was found. In Service 25 Years Mr. Savage, formerly of Battery Park, had been a resident of Portsmouth for 32 years. He was the son of the late W.H. and Mrs. Lena Knight Savage, and had been employed on the Norfolk-Portsmouth ferries for the past 25 years, recently attaining the rating of quarter-master. Mr. Savage is survived by a son, Clifton E. Savage, of Portsmouth, two daughters, Mrs. George A. Graham, of Norfolk, and Mrs. C.H. Rifel of Portsmouth, and a brother Herbert H. Savage, also of Portsmouth. "Charlie" Charles E.
