SAVAGE RESCUE BOATMAN, BURIED SATURDAY Capt. Joseph T. Savage, 79, retired boatman of Rescue, died on Thursday night, Sept. 1st at the Maryview Hospital, Portsmouth, after a short illness. He was a native of Portsmouth and resided in Rescue for the past 60 years. Besides his wife, Mrs. Blanche Johnson Savage, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Stanley Beck, of Boston, Mass. and a granddaughter, Mrs. Eleanor Peck, also of Boston. Funeral services were conducted at the Bullock Funeral Home Saturday at 4 p.m. by the Rev. J.P. Stevens assisted by the Rev. Victor B. Anthony. Burial was in St. Luke's Memorial Cemetery at Benns Church. Pallbearers were B.T. Tennis, Lloyd King, Capt. Sydney Johnson, Waverly Watkins, Wyatt Jones, John Barlow and George Johnson. Capt.
