CLARENCE LITTLETON SPENCER 

   CARRSVILLE - A funeral service for Clarence Littleton Spencer was conducted 
Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in Beaver Dam Baptist Church by the Rev. Edwin C. Thornton 
Jr. and the Rev. N.C. Clifton.  Burial with Masonic rites was in the church 
cemetery with W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home in charge.

   Pallbearers were Joel Bradshaw Jr., Jarvis Howell, J.C. Rose Jr., Hunter 
Daughtrey, Walter Johnson, John Edward Rose, Maxey Day and Walter Beale III.

   Spencer, 81, died Friday at 7:10 p.m. in his home.

   A native of Gretna, he was a son of the Rev. Littleton Edmond Spencer and 
Mrs. Rebecca Vaden Spencer and the husband of Mrs. Mary Sue Daughtrey Spencer.

   He was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and Portsmouth Naval Masonic 
Lodge 100.  He was a retired Norfolk Naval Shipyard quarterman.

   Besides his wife, he is survived by a brother, W. Tyler Spencer of Richmond.

His widowed father 2m. 27 Apr 1898 Bertie L. WATTS, in Accomack Co., and the 
   family appears there in the 1900 Census - Lee Dist. (e.d. 9).  His father 
   was a Baptist minister.
