SUDIE PILAND SPENCER 

  Sudie Piland Spencer, 78, of the 2400 block of Lakewood Lane, died Feb. 2, 
2000. 

  A native of Harrellsville, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Lynn 
[sic*] Piland and Annie Laura Hurdle Piland and the widow of Henry Martin 
Spencer.  She was a homemaker and a member of Windsor Christian Church. 

  Survivors include her daughter, Sylvia M. Spencer of Chesapeake; a son and 
daughter-in-law, Martin L. and Martha Spencer of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and 
a sister, Maggie P. Hayes of Crewe, Va. 

  A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Sidney F. Harrell Funeral 
Home by the Rev. Basil Ballard.  Burial will be in Windsor Cemetery.  Friends 
may join the family from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and other 
times at the residence.  Donations may be made to Obici Hospital, Special Care 
Unit, 1900 N. Main St., Suffolk VA 23434.

Her father was William Charles PILAND (1875-1946), buried in 
   Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Hertford Co., NC - 
   D.Cert. 28095 gives Tunis; Find a Grave gives Cofield. 

Her mother (1892-1969) was buried in Harrellsville Cemetery. (D.Cert. 10140) 
   No Find a Grave memorial for either (Sep 2020). 

"Lynn" seems to be Sudie's brother William Linwood PILAND (1926-1995). 

Birthdate from Hertford Co. B.Index, which gives Suddie I. 
   Social Security application gives Sudie Bell - middle name possibly Isabel.
