Scott Buried Sunday Mrs. Irie Turner Scott, 60, died at her home near Smithfield at 6:25 Friday night after an extended illness. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Alfred Delk and Mrs. W.C. King of Smithfield; two sons, Jack D. Gwaltney of Smithfield, and Nonnie Gwaltney of Fort Monmouth, N.J.; three sisters, Mrs. G.T. Johnson of Norfolk, and Mrs. Waverly Scott and Mrs. May Turner of Newport News; three brothers, W.G. Turner and G.H. Turner of Norfolk, and A.M. Turner, of Philadelphia; and five grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at the grave at Mill Swamp Church cemetery Sunday afternoon at 5 o'clock with the Rev. R.P. Rawlings, officiating, assisted by Rev. L.E. Holzbach. Active pallbearers were T.H. Delk, Jr., J.H. Edwards, H. Taylor Batten, Earl H. West, Lawson Carr and C.H. Thacker.
