Scott Succumbs at 77; Funeral Sunday SMITHFIELD - Ira McGee Scott, 77, well-known farmer and life long resident of Isle of Wight County, died early today at Obici Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Bullock Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Luke's Memorial Cemetery. A member of Trinity Methodist Church, Smithfield and the Wesley Bible Class of the church, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mrs. Rebecca Williford Scott of Isle of Wight County. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Marie Jones Scott of the home; two sons, I. Linwood Scott of Smithfield and J. Kermit Scott of Richmond; two sisters, Mrs. James L. Gwaltney and Mrs. Ivan H. Gwaltney of Smithfield, and three grandchildren. ****************************************************************************** Ira M. Scott, 77, I-W County Native Buried Nov. 20 Ira McGee Scott, 77, died early Friday, November 18, 1960, in the Obici Hospital, Suffolk, after a short illness. He was a farmer, a lifelong resident of Isle of Wight County, and a member of Trinity Methodist Church and its Wesley Bible Class. His parents were Joseph A. and Mrs. Rebecca Willford Scott. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Marie Jones Scott; two sons, I. Linwood Scott of Smithfield and J. Kermit Scott of Richmond; two sisters, Mrs. James L. Gwaltney and Mrs. Ivan H. Gwaltney of Smithfield; and three grandchildren. A funeral service was conducted by the Rev. Clarence England at the Bullock Funeral Home on Sunday, Nov. 20th, at 2 P.M. with burial in St. Luke's Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers were Parker Scott, Marelle Gwaltney, Horace Gwaltney, Melvin Gwaltney, Smith Turner and Howard Haverty.
