FLORENCE CORNELIA SCOTT STEPHENSON 

   Mrs. Florence Cornelia Stephenson, 61, wife of Lessie C. Stephenson of 
Walters, died Sunday morning, October 29, at Raiford Memorial Hospital after 
an illness of about three weeks.

   She was the daughter of the late James and Susan Corbitt Scott of Isle of 
Wight County and was an active member of Mt. Carmel Congregational Christian 
Church.

   Besides her husband she is survived by three sons, Herman Stephenson of 
Hunterdale, Lessie C. Stephenson, Jr., of Suffolk, and Benjamin L. Stephenson 
of Windsor; five sisters, Mrs. Cora Turner of Franklin, Mrs. Maggie Babb of 
Carrsville, Mrs. Susie Hedgepeth of Holland, Mrs. Rosa Carr of Hopewell, and 
Mrs. Minnie Luter of Suffolk; one brother, Herbert Scott of Franklin; and 
seven grandchildren.

   Last rites were held at Mt. Carmel of Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock with 
Rev. Ellis N. Clark officiating.  Burial was in the church cemetery.
