Stagg, 90, Buried Monday Mrs. Hattie Stagg, 90, widow of William J. Stagg, died at her home near Isle of Wight at 10 o'clock Saturday night. Mrs. Stagg, who was born on May 5, 1851, was the oldest member of Woodland Methodist Church, which she joined as a girl. She is survived by one son, Clyde P. Stagg; two grandchildren, Mrs. B.J. Pruden and Clyde P. Stagg, both of Newport News; and several nieces and nephews. The body was taken to the funeral home of Roberts & Johnson, Smithfield, and the funeral procession left at 1 o'clock Monday morning for Antioch Christian Church, where funeral services were conducted by the Rev. E.W. Rawlings, pastor of Isle of Wight charge. Pallbearers were William Lane, Andrew Griffin, Dewitt Griffin, Felton Worrell, C.F. Butler and Hudson Cofield. She was the daughter of John W. & Catherine (DARDEN) PARR. D.Cert. 26907 (Newport #6) gives her mother as Hattie Frances DARDEN.
