STANLEY DIES NEAR CHUCKATUCK Funeral Rites To Be Held Tomorrow Mrs. Sally Anne Stanley, aged 69, died Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Bosselman, near Chuckatuck, Va., after a long illness. She is survived by five children - two daughters, Mrs. Leck Bosselman, of Chuckatuck, and Mrs. Mamie Drewry, of Smithfield; three sons, J.H. Stanley, near Smithfield, T.H. Stanley, of Newport News, and P.L. Stanley, of near Smithfield; eighteen grandchildren, and two great grandchildren, together with several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Bosselman near Chuckatuck, conducted by the Methodist pastor of Smithfield, Va. Burial will be in the Smithfield cemetery. ****************************************************************************** MRS. SALLY STANLEY Funeral services for Mrs. Sally Anne Stanley were held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. George Bosselman, near Chuckatuck, Va., conducted by her pastor, the Rev. W.W. Morris, and the Rev. L.D. Stables. A quartette, accompanied by C.E. Vellines, rendered the hymns, "Old Rugged Cross" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere." Active pallbearers were: J.V. Stanley, Jr., J.V. Stanley, Sr., L.L. Stanley, A.J. Stanley, T.H. Stanley, T.L. Stanley, S.W. Bull, O.L. Stanley. Interment was in the Smithfield cemetery, Smithfield, Va. Neither Sally nor Philip (1858 - 1935) appear on the cemetery list, but it notes a "Concrete Casket ... no markers" adjacent to their son John V. STANLEY, Sr. (1879 - 1937). Their daughter Mary Lee (STANLEY BOSSELMAN CRUMPLER; Mrs. "Jim" James Edward) DREWERY (1889 - 1957) and her husband (1878 - 1936) do not appear either. The 1900 Census - Windsor Dist., Isle of Wight Co. - gives b. Mar 1864. Her father Arnold POWELL was a Confederate veteran, having served in Co. F, 61st VA Infantry. His first wife Nancy Ann (ENGLISH) POWELL, daughter of William & Martha ENGLISH, d. 31 Aug 1866, of congestive chill, age 27. (IoW.Co. D.Reg.
