He was the husband of Mrs. Olive Church Self, and son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lemuel Self. He was a native of Willis [sic*], Okla., a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War; a member Chicora Masonic Lodge, Charleston, S.C.; Norfolk Consistory Scottish Rite Bodies, and Khedive Shrine Temple, Norfolk. Other than his wife, he is survived by one son William W. Self, Baltimore, Md.; a daughter, Mrs. Barbara Carol Self, of the home; one sister, Mrs. Goldie High, Florence, Colo. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home by the Rev. Larry McCall, of Antioch Christian Church with Masonic rites. His father Dr. Lemuel Emeriah SELF (1875 - 1916) is buried in Greenwood Memorial Park, Fort Worth, Tarrant Co., TX. His step-mother Luna L. (BELL) SELF (1890 - 1912) is buried in Old Johnsonville Cemetery, Johnsonville, McLain Co., OK.
