Mrs. Saunders, born in Surry County, was a homemaker. She was a member of the Smithfield Baptist Church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Helen S. Delgado, Mrs. Ruby S. Jones and Mrs. Catherine S. Latimer, all of Smithfield; two sons, Finley Lee Saunders of Disputanta and Donald Gene Saunders of Hampton; two sisters, Mrs. Doris Holloway Collier of Dendron and Mrs. Agnes Louise Saunders of Waverly; also 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Services will be held today at 2 p.m. at the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Donald R. Rhoton and the Rev. Warren F. Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Christian Church Cemetery, Windsor. The family requests memorial donations may be made to the Isle of Wight County Rescue Squad or the Smithfield Baptist Church. Pallbearers were Marco A. Delgado, Stephen L. Delgado, Jeffrey D. Landrus, Thomas Wayne Latimer, Keith G. Latimer, L. Dean Latimer, Carl F. Saunders, Randal L. Saunders, Charles T. Saunders and Clyde W. Saunders. Colonial Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
