Mr. Saunders was born in Gordonsville May 1, 1870. He had resided at Morgart’s Beach and Carrsville for five years. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Duke Saunders; a son, H.H. Saunders, Jr. of Franklin; a daughter, Mrs. J.J. Bradshaw, of Carrsville, seven grandchildren, William Henry Saunders, of Portsmouth, Mrs. Nurney Whitley, of Franklin, Mrs. Perkins Britt, of Norfolk, J.J. Bradshaw, Jr., Mason Bradshaw and Misses Margaret and Judith Ann Bradshaw, of Carrsville, and one great-granddaughter, Joan Whitley, of Franklin. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 3 o’clock at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, on the Suffolk-Smithfield highway, by the Rev. Claudius F.Smith, of Richmond and the Rev. J. Sutherland-Watt, of Norfolk. Burial will be in the church cemetery. ****************************************************************************** HERBERT HENRY SAUNDERS Herbert Henry Saunders, beloved husband of Myrtle Buck Saunders died early Sunday morning at his home at Morgart’s Beach after an illness of three months. Mr. Saunders was a native of Gordonsville, Va., being born there on May 1, 1870 and had lived at Morgarts’s Beach and Carrsville, Va., for the past five years. He is survived by his wife, one son H.H. Saunders, Jr., of Franklin; one daughter, Mrs. J.J. Bradshaw of Carrsville, and seven grandchildren, William Henry Saunders of Portsmouth, Ohio; Mrs. Nurney Whitley, of Franklin; Mrs. Perkins Brett of Norfolk; J.J. Bradshaw, Jr.; Mason Bradshaw, Misses Margaret and Judith Ann Bradshaw of Carrsville and one great grandchild, John Whitley of Franklin. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday afternoon from St. Luke’s Episcopal Church on Suffolk-Smithfield Highway at three o’clock by the Rev. Claudius F. Smith of Richmond and Rev. J.
