LEON WILLIAM SAUNDERS 

  CARRSVILLE - Leonidas William (Simon) Saunders, 81, died Thursday night in 
Southampton Memoiral Hospital, Franklin.

  A native of Isle of Wight County, he was the husband of Mrs. Tena Keen 
Saunders.

  He was a farmer and carpenter.

  He was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church.

  Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Kline Griffin, of Suffolk; a son, 
Billy Saunders of Carrsville; two sisters, Mrs. Reba Lankford of Carrsville 
and Mrs. Otelia Nichols of Norfolk; and five grandsons.

  A funeral will be held today at 1:30 p.m. in Beaver Dam Church Cemetery by 
the Rev. Edwin C. Thornton, Jr.  W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home, Franklin 
has charge.
