Saunders, Prominent Business Man of Ivor Passes Away; Aged 72 Ivor, Va. - T.A. Saunders, aged 72 years, died at his home in Ivor, Virginia, March 23, following a brief illness. Mr. Saunders had been a resident of Southampton County for forty-four years, during which time he has been engaged in the lumber business and farming extensive scale and has been prominently connected with the affairs of his town and county. He was at the time of his death Vice-President of the Bank of Sussex and Surry, of which institution he had been a member of the Board of Directors since its organization. The deceased was a member of the Masonic, Woodman of tne World, and Odd Fellow Lodges, and a member of the Ivor Baptist Church of which he was a Deacon. He had served as chairman of the Democratic Executive Committee of Southampton County and as Postmaster at Ivor. Mr. Saunders was married twice, his first wife being Laura Ann Gaskins of Isle of Wight County. His second wife was Mary A. Bell, of Ivor. The deceased is survived by his widow, and five children, L.T. Saunders, Thos. A. Saunders, Cofer C. Saunders and Mrs. R.H. Pulley, of Ivor, and Homer S. Saunders, of Roanoke. Funeral services will be conducted this afternoon at the Baptist Church at Ivor. Interment will be made at Antioch Church in Isle of Wight County.
