VAUGHAN SAUNDERS Many local Citizens Buried Recently MRS. UNITY E. SAUNDERS Funeral services for Mrs. Unity Effa Saunders, 66, widow of W.J. Saunders, who died at her home in Isle of Wight Monday morning after a long illness, were conducted Tuesday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the residence by the Rev. Rufus Corbitt. Burial was in the family cemetery. Mrs. Saunders is survived by two sisters, Mrs. J.L. Fowler of Walters, and Mrs. J.R. No contemporary D.Cert. found. Daughter of Randolph "Randall" Bennett & Lydia Matilda (GARDNER) VAUGHAN. She m. 23 Jan 1896. (IoW.Co. M.Reg. {BVS copy} p. 201 #15) They appear in the 1920 Census on Zuni Rd. (Farm 144, Windsor Dist., IoW.Co.) They appear in the 1930 Census on Antioch Rd. (Windsor Dist., IoW.Co.) Her husband, sn/o Thomas & Nancy (STRINGFIELD) SAUNDERS, d. 9 Aug 1930. (D.Cert. 19290 {Windsor #7}) He 1m. Sarah Elizabeth BAILEY (d. 10 May 1886), 25 Feb 1874. (IoW.Co. M.Reg. {BVS copy} p. 138 #26) Their son Charles Thomas (1875-1943) was bu. 1 Jan 1944 in Johnson's Grove Church Cemetery. (Southampton Co. MV-IX-34) Most of the remains were moved to Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley.
