Burial was in St. Luke's Memorial Park with Colonial Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were: Amos L. Capps, Henry Turnbull, Ben Gillette, Howard W. Gwaltney Sr., John T. Jenkins, Stockton E. Wright, Rodham T. Delk and Jon Bolling. Mrs. Shearin of 213 S. Mason St. died Monday morning in her home. A native of Southampton County she was the wife of Walter H. Shearin. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, a past president of the United Methodist Women. She was a retired school teacher of Isle of Wight county schools and the Isle of Wight Academy. She was a graduate of Longwood College. Beside her husband, survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Evely Neal Shearin, Smithfield; one sister, Mrs. Betty F. Heald, Fairfax; three brothers, James T. Gillette Jr., and R. Tunbull Gillette, Courtland and Joseph P. Gillette, Roanoke; and a stepmother, Mrs. James T. Gillette, Courtland.
