A lifelong resident of Isle of Wight County, he was a retired farmer. His parents were Charlie Lee Tomlin and Mrs. Nancy Saunders Tomlin. He was a member of Antioch Christian Church and an Army veteran of World War I. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Emma Barrett Tomlin; one daughter, Mrs. Julian A. Felts of Ivor; one son, Mills T. Tomlin of Suffolk; two sisters, Mrs. N.M. Hunter and Mrs. Jasper Joyner of Zuni; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. A funeral service was held at Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield, Saturday at 2:30 p.m. by the Rev. L.P. Bland of Wakefield Methodist Church, with burial in Antioch Church Cemetery near Windsor.
