JERRY DEAN TYREE, JR. 

  Jerry Dean Tyree Jr., 16, died Oct. 5, 2000, at his home. 

  Dean was born in Franklin and was a sophomore at Southampton High School 
where he was a member of the FFA and VICA clubs.  He was also a member of 
the Newsoms Volunteer Fire Department. 

  Survivors include his parents, Jerry and Leslie Tyree; a brother, Davey Lee 
Tyree; paternal grandparents, Bobby and Dorothy Tyree of Carrsville; and many 
aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends.  Dean was predeceased by his 
maternal grandparents, Gus and Mildred Holland. 

  A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday in Wright Funeral Home 
Chapel, Franklin, by the Rev. Curtis Faison.  The burial of the ashes will be 
at Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at 
the home of Bobby and Dorothy Tyree, 30715 Hunt Club Road, Carrsville, and 
suggests that memorials be made to the Newsoms Volunteer Fire Department, 
Newsoms, VA 23874.
