JOHN ROGERS THORNE

   FRANKLIN - John Rogers Thorne, 67, a retired banker and a native of Isle of 
Wight County, died Monday in his home in Richmond.

   He was a son of Ryland S. and Mrs. Lula Rhodes Thorne and a member of 
Colosse Baptist Church.

   Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Gladys T. Johnson of Windsor.

   A funeral service was conducted Wed. at 2 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland & Sons 
Funeral Home by the Rev. Donald E. Trump of Colosse Church.  Burial was in the 
church cemetery.

   Pallbearers were Grafton Spivey, Guthrie Ballard, Lofton Rhodes, Delmar 
Carr, Johnnie Stephens and Ralston Rhodes.
