Mrs. M. R. Thorne [sic*] Of Windsor Buried Tuesday 

  Mrs. Maudie Rhodes Thorne, 50 [sic*], wife of M.L. Thorne, of the Windsor 
community, died in a Suffolk hospital Sunday afternoon after an illness of 
a week.  She was a daughter of the late W. Thomas and Mrs. Irene Spivey Rhodes 
of Isle of Wight, and was a member of Antioch Christian Church and of the 
Ladies Aid Society of the Church. 

  Besides her husband, Mrs. Thorne is survived by two sons, Wilbur and Lawton 
Thorne, both of Norfolk; two brothers, J.E. and Oscar Rhodes, of Zuni; and one 
grandchild. 

  Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Antioch 
Christian Church by the Rev. Fred T. Wright.  Burial was in the church 
cemetery.

D.Cert. 19529 (Suffolk #264) gives b. 16 Nov 1897, daughter of Thomas T. 
   RHODES. 

The 1900 Census - Windsor Dist., Isle of Wight Co. - gives b. May 1888. 

Her husband's WW-I draft card gives Miniard Lucius THORNE. 

Her husband's obit ("Suffolk News-Herald," Feb. 21, 1948, p. 1), which gives  
   Miniard Leonard THORNE, is posted at:

Her parents are buried in Colosse Baptist Church Cemetery, Collosse.
