Holland & Sons Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Edwin C. Thornton and Dr. Ira D. Hudgins. Burial was in Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Harry Hassett, Jay Hassett, J.G. Joyner, Julian Whitley, Millard Wade, Edward Blythe, Richard E. Carter, Hal Overton. Mrs. Turner, 70, died Wednesday afternoon in Southampton Memorial Hospital. She was the widow of James H. Turner and a daughter of James Urquhart Scott and Mrs. Susan Corbett Scott. She was a native of Isle of Wight County. She was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, James H. Turner Jr. and H.M. Turner of Franklin; three daughters, Mrs. C. James Cobb of Franklin, Mrs. Robert J. Dunlow of Courtland, and Mrs. Eleanor Hatch of Pensacola, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Claudia Hedgepeth of Holland and Mrs. Maggie Babb of Carrsville; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
