Frank Turner Buried Dec. 20th In Ivy Hill Cemetery Charles Frank Turner, 66, of Hampton, died Sunday, December 18, 1955, at his home in Newport News [sic] after a short illness. A native of Isle of Wight County, he had been a Peninsula resident for 25 years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, the Board of Deacons, Men's Bible Class, and the Peninsula Retired Men's Club. He was retired from the welder's department of the Newport News Shipyard in 1954 after 27 years' service. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mattie Gray Turner, of Hampton; a son, Charles R. Turner, of Warwick; a daughter, Mrs. Herman M. Broughton, of Hampton; a sister, Mrs. J.W. Hall, of Smithfield; a brother, E.W. Turner, of Newport News; and three grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 2 P.M. Tuesday at Calvary Baptist Church. Burial was in Ivy Hill Cemetery in Smithfield.
