Turner Jr. SMITHFIELD - Eddie Seward Turner Jr., 50, of 505 Bailey Avenue, died Tuesday in Riverside Hospital, Newport News. A native of Isle of Wight County, he was employed as a clerk for the Smithfield Post Office and was retired as a senior master sergeant from the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Central Hill Baptist Church and its Young Men's Bible Class, and George F. Dashiell American Legion, Post 49. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lucille Crocker Turner; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie S. Turner Sr. of Portsmouth; one daughter, Miss Karen Annette Turner, and a son, Eddie Seward Turner III, both at home; three sisters, Mrs. Brenda Hall of Smithfield, Mrs. Norma Evans of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Mrs. Nina T. Hancock of Portsmouth; and one brother, Warren R. Turner of Seaford. A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday in Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield, by the Rev. Robert Wilkerson and the Rev. Kenneth Saylers. Burial will be in St. Luke's Memorial Park. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Isle of Wight Volunteer Rescue Squad, or the American Heart Association.
