Turner of Colosse, who died at her home Saturday night October 11, were held at Colosse Baptist Church Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock with the Rev. J. Sydney Cobb officiating assisted by the Rev. Beecher L. Rhodes. The casket was covered with a pall of Easter lilies, roses and lilies of the valley. During the services the choir sang, "Abide With Me." A solo, "Sunrise," was sung by Mrs. G.E. Ballard and a duet, "Does Jesus Care," was sung by Mrs. L.L. Turner and Miss Faye Outland, accompanied by Mrs. J.H. Avis. Active pallbearers were A.B Spivey, W.H. Johnson, S.H. Reed, J.H. Vaughan, T.H. Carr, J.B. Cones, K.A. Turner, and H.G. Spivey. Honorary pallbearers were S.T. Holland, Dr. G.G. Holland, J.P. Carr, R.G. Lewis, J.C. Jenkins, J.H. Avis, R.R. Rhodes, M.D. Bowden, J.H. Carr, C.L. Carr, R.C. Carr and E.B. Rhodes. Burial was in Colosse Cemetery. Emma L. (COGGIN; Mrs. Robert L.) TURNER, Isle of Wight Co. native, d. 10 Oct 1936, at home, Collosse, age 54, interred in Colosse Baptist Church Cemetery, Collosse*, "The Smithfield (VA) Times," Vol. 17, No. 32, Oct. 22, 1936 *Her parents, John & Parthenia (SPIVEY) GOGGIN, are buried there also.
