TURNER OF I-WIGHT COUNTY DIES IN FRANCE Pvt. Franklin T. Turner, USA, husband of Mrs. Myrtle* Louise Turner, of Walters, and son of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Turner of Windsor, died in France January 27th, according to news received by the family from the War Department. Private Turner, who was 31 years of age, went overseas in September 1944, and was wounded in action in October and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was attached to the infantry and after his wound was transferred to the Medical Corps. Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by the following brothers and sisters, Edward Turner and Mrs. Corbitt Nurney of Smithfield; John Turner of Portsmouth, and Mrs. James A.
