He was the husband of Mrs. Lillie Johnson Turner, a son of William F. [sic] and Mrs. Margaret Daughtrey Turner and a native of Isle of Wight County. Surviving besides her wife, are five sons, Howard L. Turner, Jr. and John R. Turner of Franklin, Ray M. Turner of New York, Herman Turner of German, and Clifton Turner of Fairfax; three daughters, Mrs. Lillian Thomas of St. James, N.Y., Mrs. Mildred Pollak of Farmingville, N.Y., and Mrs. Carolyn Henrich of Williamsburg; a brother, James Turner of Franklin, and eight grandchildren. A funeral service was held Tuesday at 4 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Edwin C. Thornton of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and the Rev. L.F. Smith. Burial was in Beaver Dam Baptist Church cemetery. Pallbearers were Joseph Darden, Elmer Darden, Mills H. Johnson, Clyde Turner, Robert Bowles and Nat Davis Jones.
