JANE SAUNDERS TURNER 

   CARRSVILLE - A graveside funeral service for Mrs. Jane S. Turner was 
conducted Thursday at 4 p.m. by the Rev. W.A. Grissom of Windsor Christian 
Church in Uzzells Methodist Church Cemetery.  Colonial Funeral Home, 
Smithfield, was in charge.

   Pallbearers were J.T. Lankford, J.S. Lankford, L.W. Saunders Jr., John M. 
Council, G.T. Rountree Jr., and Clyde Lankford Jr.

   Mrs. Turner, 68, died Tuesday morning in a hospital.

   A native of Isle of Wight County, she was a daughter of John M. and Nancy 
Virginia Holland Saunders.

   She was a member of Suffolk First Baptist Church.

   She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Bettie T. Edwards of Norfolk and 
Mrs. Charles Taylor Darden of Smithfield; two sons, Gus C. Turner Jr. and 
Bob S. Turner of Norfolk; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Sue Baines of Suffolk, Mrs. 
Lavinia S. Powell, and Mrs. Louis O. Nichols of Norfolk, and Mrs. Rebie S. 
Lankford of Walters; two brothers, J. Melza Saunders of Durham, N.C., and 
L.W. (Simon) Saunders of Carrsville; and nine grandchildren.

Her parents are buried in Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery, near Carrsville.
