JOHN H. TURNER 

   CARRSVILLE - A funeral service for John H. Turner was conducted Thursday 
at 2:30 p.m. in Colosse Baptist Church by the Rev. Joseph McTeer.  Burial 
was in the church cemetery with W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home in charge.

   Pallbearers were Delman Carr, Shirley T. Holland, Ralph Bowden, Grafton 
Spivey, Roger Fulford and Cleafe Carr.

   Turner, 93, died Wednesday morning in Southampton Memorial Hospital, 
Franklin, after a brief illness.

   He was a son of Samuel and Mrs. Priscilla Spivey Turner of Isle of Wight 
County and the oldest member of Colosse Baptist Church.

   He was a retired farmer.

   Surviving are three nieces, Mrs. Berta Rhodes and Mrs. Dora Gay of Windsor 
and Mrs. Mae Outland of Carrsville.
