Mr. Turner, born in Stokesdale, North Carolina, was the former of the Union 76 distributor in Smithfield. He attended Smithfield Baptist Church. He was the husband of the late Lillian Virginia Turner. Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Virginia Turner Green, Barbourville, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Whitney Edward Green and Lori Virginia Green. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, at the Newman Memorial Cemetery, Chuckatuck Station, Suffolk, with Chaplain Johnson Griffin and the Rev. Warren F. Taylor officiating. Pallbearers were Henry R. Griffin, Francis S. Griffin, Curtis M. Holland, A. Frank Buppert, Howard W. Gwaltney Sr. and Edmund M. Clarke. The family suggests memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Newman Memorial Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund, P.O. Box 2008, Suffolk, Virginia 23432.
