The end came at his home near Isle of Wight. He left a widow, Lottie V. Turner, and seven children: Lloyd L. Turner, Isle of Wight; Thurman Turner, Smithfield; Mrs. A.R. Butler, Buckham, Va.; Mrs. P.L. Edwards, Smithfield, J.D. Turner, Jr., Isle of Wight; Edna and R.L. Turner, Isle of Wight. He also left one sister, Mrs. Virginia Rhodes, of Windsor, and two brothers, J.E. Turner and J.A. Turner of Colosse. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at Colosse Baptist Church. Rev. Boucher Rhodes of Norfolk, conducting the funeral services, assisted by Rev. L.F. Paulette of Smithfield, and Rev. Cobb of Windsor. Hymns by the choir were "Asleep in Jesus," "Safe in the Arms of Jesus." A solo, "Does Jesus Care?" by Rev. L.F. Paulette. The pallbearers were Ernest Rhodes, Letcher Turner, Howard Rhodes, Kennie Rhodes, Raby Turner, Johnnie Rhodes. Honorary pallbearers: A.B. Stott, Jr., Ramey Rhodes, J.R. Jordan, Ed Knight, Z. B. Crocker, C.P. Edwards.
