Holland and Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Thomas Mabe of Sycamore Baptist Church assisted by the Rev. Dallas Stallings, assistant pastor of the Franklin Baptist Church. Burial was in Beaver Dam Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ecil Rader, Guy Lowe, Raymond Cobb, Herman Eley, Hal Overton, Edward Blythe Sr., Robert Stephenson and L.E. Edwards. Turner, 81, of 429 Cresent Drive died Friday afternoon after a long illness. A native of Isle of Wight County, he was a lifelong resident of Franklin. He was the husband of Mrs. Cora Annie Scott Turner and the son of Frank W. and Mrs. Virginia Daughtrey Turner. He was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist church and Fork of the River Hunt Club and an honorary member of Bronco Hunt Club. Besides his wife, surviving are two sons, H.M. Turner and James H. Turner Jr. of Franklin; three daughters, Mrs. Walter W. Hatch of Pensacola, Fla., Mrs. Robert J. Dunlow of Courtland, and Mrs. C. James Cobb of Franklin; 12 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
