She made her home with a niece, Mrs. Jean T. Groom, Newport News. Miss Turner, a native of Isle of Wight County, was retired secretary from the purchasing department of the Newport News Shipyard. She was a member of Chestnut Memorial United Methodist Church. She was the daughter of the late Frederick and Laura Jones Turner. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Elsie T. Campbell, of Anaheim, CA and one brother, James I. Turner, of Smithfield. Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19 in Ivy Hill Cemetery, Smithfield, with the Rev. Randall C. Blankenshlp officiating. The family suggest memorial donations may be made to the Chestnut Memorial United Methodist Church, 1024 Harpersville Road, Newport News, VA 23601. Colonial Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
