Rites Thursday For Mrs. Sally A. Turner 

  SMITHFIELD, March 17 - Funeral services for Mrs. Sally A. Turner, of 
Portsmouth, formerly of Shoal Bay, Isle of Wight County, will be held 
Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the graveside in Ivy Hill Cemetery. 

  Officiating minister will be the Rev. Roderick H. Jackson, assisted by the 
Rev. William Brayshaw.  The body will remain at the Jones Funeral Home until 
the funeral hour. 

  Mrs. Turner died Tuesday in a Portsmouth hospital after a long illness. 

  She was the widow of Dr. William Dandridge Turner, of late of Wight County, 
and a member of Christ's Episcopal Church, Smithfield. 

  Surviving are a son, Thomas Randolph Turner, of Portsmouth; a granddaughter, 
Mrs. Allen W. Stone, of California, and three great-grandchildren.

Thomas P. DOUGHTY & Sarah A. DUNTON m. 23 Dec 1858 in Norfolk. 

Her father was a Confederate veteran, having served as private in Cos. B & E, 
   19th Battalion VA Heavy Artillery.
